What's Spirituality Got to Do with It? is a new DVD training program that empowers health care providers to address and support patient's health-related spiritual issues. The film also models appropriate skills needed to integrate spiritual care into patient care.

As a result, patients and their family members may be able to better integrate the benefits of spirituality into their recovery, disease management, and their overall health.

The film was developed by a group of physicians and health care providers because research shows that aspects of religion and spirituality may substantially contribute to better health, a longer lifespan, faster recovery from illness, and lower utilization of medications during or following major medical interventions. However, only 5% of health care providers feel that they are trained or able to effectively respond to patients with spiritual concerns regarding their health.
