Daniel Goleman is an internationally known psychologist and lecturer.  He is also a science journalist who has reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for The New York Times for many years.

Goleman is the author of the bestselling book, "Emotional Intelligence."  His book (published in 1995)  was on The New York Times bestseller list for a year-and-a-half, with more than 5,000,000 copies in print worldwide in 40 languages, and has been a top seller in many countries.

Emotional Intelligence has become a cutting edge area of study.  The Harvard Business Review called emotional intelligence - which discounts IQ as the sole measure of one's abilities - "a revolutionary, paradigm-shattering idea." The book, Emotional Intelligence was named one of the 25 "Most Influential Business Management Books" by TIME Magazine. The Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and Accenture Insititute for Strategic Change have listed Goleman among the most influential business thinkers.

Goleman's most recent book, "Leadership: The Power of Emotional Intelligence "has taken his latest research on the subject to a new level. Goleman is also the author of Ecological Intelligence: How Knowing the Hidden Impacts of What We Buy Can Change Everything which was published in 2009. 

He received his Ph.D. from Harvard and reported on the brain and behavioral sciences for the New York Times for twelve years. He was awarded the American Psychological Associations Career Achievement Award and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
