Madelyn Burley-Allen, Ph.D. is the founder of Dynamics of Human Behavior - DHB in 1972 to combine several years of business ownership, management and sales experience with her specialized graining in psychology. Madelyn holds a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology, Master Degree in Speech Communication, Bachelors Degrees in Development Psychology/Speech Communication for San Francisco State University.
Prior to founding DHB, Dr. Burley-Allen held many responsible business positions such as manager, supervisor, saleswoman, vice president of marketing and sales, office manager, partner in a retail sportswear store and production line supervisor. Since 1972, more than 100,000 people have enjoyed the benefits of training seminars in the USA, China, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Indonesia. She has worked with many local county agencies, State Compensation Insurance Fund, Intel, IBM, Bank of America, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Federal Region Training Centers and many others.
Madelyn has written numerous articles in applied psychology, listening, and interpersonal communication in various journals, corporation, and association newsletters. She has authored three books, Listening: The Forgotten Skill, Managing Assertively: How to Improve Your People Skills, published by John Wiley & Sons, and Memory Skills in Business published by Crisp Publication.
Her books have been mentioned in major newspapers and magazines, and are translated into many languages; such as, Russian, Korean, Spanish, Romanian, Hebrew, Arabic, French, Italian, and Japanese. She has been a guest speaker at National, State and Regional conferences such as, American Society for Training & Development, Toastmasters International, California Attorney Associations, Flight Safety Foundation, and others.
In addition to her books, she has researched, developed and produced pre-packaged training programs that include video, audio, instructor materials, assessments, and participant materials regarding her Listening: The Forgotten Skill, Managing Assertively, and Memory Skills in Business based on her books.
